Dave Ashworth - SEO Executive

Hi, I am Dave Ashworth and recently joined the Return On Digital team in the SEO department.

I've been involved in the web since graduating from Sheffield Hallam University in 1999 with a 2:1 in Software Engineering and cut my teeth in web development when joining ICL/Fujitsu web team - where I worked on a number of web sites back in the day when Alta Vista was king and Google was barely out of nappies!

My next role saw my first foray into SEO when I joined Multimedia Marketing.com in 2002. Having redesigned and redeveloped their website I was asked by my boss to see if I could get the site to rank well for key terms such as "online marketing courses" and "marketing courses" - admittedly my initial techniques were not ones which I would apply now but needless to say, I got high rankings whilst "online marketing courses" still ranks no.1 several years on!

After 10 years web experience and with further successful exposure to SEO, I decided to hang up my Spiderman (web developer...) outfit and enter into online marketing on a full time basis.

Although residing in Manchester I originate from Bolton and still return home on a regular basis to fulfil my season ticket obligations at the Reebok Stadium. Other punishing pastimes include running and swimming though I do choose to enjoy myself when making my way through my diverse DVD collection, attending gigs and aiming for a hole in one at (Wii) Golf.
