What Do You Love? Google’s New Project

30th June 2011 |  Written by Steph Goodman

Google has realised a fun new project called WYDL (What Do You Love?). When you open the site, it has a simple interface asking you straight away ‘What do you love?’ Once you have typed what you are after, Google shows you the results from your query which is divided into separate sections displaying all the different services that Google offers.

The results are presented in little boxes that can be seen in the screenshot below.  The data is provided in pictures, video, trends, maps, translate etc. and even allows you to open a calendar entry with that search term.

In some cases you can expand these boxes by clicking on the icon in the lower right corner, alternatively if you want even more results, you can click the button in the upper right corner of the box and go directly to that chosen Google service. There has been very little justification from Google regarding this service, and it hasn’t been announced on any of their official blogs. Tell us what you think of the service?
