I have been meaning to write a blog post on some of the top Google Logos that we have come across over the past year. Dave Ashworth, our top blogger of 2010, compiles his own database of Google Logos, which I will be using to write this blog post.
One of the best logos of 2010 was the Pac Man Google Logo that was available to celebrate the Pac Man 30th Anniversary on May 21st 2010. When this logo was live, I think you’ll agree with me when I say that every single person loved it and will have been playing the Pac Man game, during their lunch hour at work, at home and during any free time that they had!
Next up is the Animated Colour Balls logo that was live on 7th September 2010. I just loved the way in which the colour balls filled the screen as you hovered your mouse over the Google logo.
The animated “fullerene” was another favourite for some of us here. It was a very simple animation showing the fullerene turning around as you hover over the logo. The Animated “Fullerene” was live on September 5th 2010.
The final logo for our animations category, will have to be the October 8th 2010 Google video for John Lennon’s 70th Birthday.
Moving onto some static logos now, the X-rays logo was live on November 8th 2010 and celebrated the Anniversary of the Discovery of X-Rays.
Next up, is the logo that celebrated Dizzy Gillespie’s 93rd Birthday. It was quite a crazy looking logo and I think it will have woken everybody up on a Thursday morning!
Some cartoon favourites now, The Flintstones logo that celebrated the 50th Anniversary of The Flintstones on September 30th 2010.
Finally, we have the series of logos that celebrated Halloween and Scooby Doo on October 31st 2010, of which some of the logos are displayed below.
Those were our top favourites for 2010, but needless to say that previous years have also shown some fantastic designs in the Google logos database so I thought I’d add in a couple of favourites from 2009 as well.
First up, we have the Series of Google logos that celebrated the 40th Anniversary of Sesame Street, of which the one below was highlighted as a favourite. This series of logos were live between 5th – 10th November 2009.
Last but certainly not least, the Google Barcode logo that celebrated the 57th Anniversary of the Barcode on October 7th, 2009, was also another favourite of 2009.
If you have any favourite Google logos from 2010 or previous years, then feel free to share it with us, we’d love to hear from you.
