I have noticed a new feature that Facebook rolled out yesterday on all Pages called ‘talking about this’. It represents and measures the amount of people that are actually talking the specific page. I was wondering how Facebook actually figured this out – it is basically a metric of active fans and who is sharing content from the page and further interacting with the page, therefore creating stories.
Businesses should think about creating interesting and popular content for your page to increase the amount of people talking about it. There are several tools that you can use to find what content works and what your competitors are using. I suppose the main thing to take away from this, is that you need to increase your content relevance in order to increase your ‘talking about’ increase. No doubt people will start using this as a measure, as it comes to being the closest thing to understand the real value of a Facebook business page.
