How To Select All Friends In Facebook Questions

28th September 2011 |  Written by Steph Goodman

I personally use the Questions feature in Facebook a lot. Questions will enable you to understand the pulse of your users and will help increase engagement/brand exposure. As I was using this feature I found it very difficult to ask the question to my friends. You may know that Facebook does not have an in-built feature where you can ‘select all’ friends and lets be honest clicking each friend manually gets extremely tedious.

As you can see in the screenshot above you have to click each friend. However, there is a way to get around this with a Javascript code that can be copied and pasted into your web address bar:

(function(){var f=document.getElementsByClassName(“fbProfileBrowserListContainer”);for(var i=0;i<f.length;i++){if(f[i].children){var c=f[i].getElementsByTagName(“input”);for(var l=0;l<c.length;l++){c[l].click();}}}})();

Once you have pasted this into your web address, scroll to the bottom of your friend list, and click enter. This should then automatically select all your friends. The code is supposed to work in both Google Chrome and Firefox. Hopefully you will find this code as helpful as I did.
