Have You Claimed Your Social Media Name/Brand?

I don’t know about you but I find it really annoying when I go to sign up for a new account with a new website or social media platform to find it’s gone and then be offered crap alternatives with random digits appended.

Then I came across a website by the name of namechk.com which will conveniently inform you if your preferred moniker is currently available across a vast range of sites (and if it is, then maybe go out and get it before anyone else does):

I’ll be honest, I’m a bit dissapointed that my name has already been snapped up across the big boys in social media though I won’t be going out and securing that Viddler account just – so then I started to wonder what uses this site could provide.

So if you’re into cyber squatting and want to beat a brand that’s been slow off the mark in acquiring all it’s social media profiles, this may be a good place to start…
