Foursquare Community Reaches The 10 Million Mark

22nd June 2011 |  Written by Steph Goodman

The location based service Foursquare has created an exciting infographic to celebrate that they have now reached more than 10 million members worldwide. It was created in March 2009, and just after six months they managed to reach 100,000 people.

As you can see below the inforgraphic is interactive, showing a series of dots that slowly spread around the globe, showing the growth of the company throughout its two year history, with each dot representing a user.

It also shows the most popular chains that people have checked into across the USA, including H&M, Victoria Secret, Ikea and Walmart to mention a few.  Furthermore, it comes as no surprise that London and New York City are the most common cities that have the most checkins. The life moments is also an interesting part, with babies and weddings becoming popular events.
